On Tuesday night (Nov. 29), the president of the Liberal Party (PL, right), Valdemar Costa Neto, told supporters of the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), will not let them in the wrong hands.
The statement was given to Bolsonaristas, who gathered in front of the venue at which a PL dinner was taking place in Brasilia, attended by Bolsonaro and parliamentarians.
“You can be sure that Bolsonaro will give you an answer. Bolsonaro is a man. You can be sure that he will not let you down,” Valdemar said to a supporter, who was complaining about the election result, saying that “the thief will not climb the ramp.”
Bolsonaro supporters have gathered since the end of the elections in front of general quarters around the country. Lula will be inaugurated by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) next day 12.
Valdemar also said that Bolsonaro would cheer them on but gave no details on how. He also said that the president should return to speak with supporters.
Since the election, Bolsonaro has been isolated in the Alvorada Palace. He no longer opened the so-called enclosure for supporters or made transmissions on social networks.
“He improved a lot from last week to this week. And his face? I only invited him because of that. I went to the Palace, saw his face and said: ‘Hey, what happened? He’s fine, he’s fine, he’s excited. He got up; he passed the thud,” Valdemar said.
“We didn’t expect this result, and now he’s recovered. And we will see how he behaves; he will want to talk to these people on the street,” he told journalists.
According to the president of the PL, next week, the party should make official its support for the candidacy of Senate President Rogério Marinho (PL), former Minister of Regional Development.
