See which São Paulo city neighborhoods will have the most antennas in the 5G rollout

The 5G signal will be activated in the city of São Paulo on Thursday (4). This was confirmed at a meeting on Tuesday (2) by the group Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency), which is responsible for overseeing the cleaning of the frequency bands to activate the technology in Brazil.

According to Anatel, the largest concentration of antennas that will spread the fifth-generation Internet signal is located in the historic center, in the region of Avenida Paulista and in Itaim Bibi (a posh neighborhood in the western part of the city).

The districts of Aclimação, Mooca and Brás, for example, will have less coverage at the beginning of the process.

According to the rules of the 5G auction that took place last year, operators would have to install one antenna per 100,000 inhabitants at the beginning of the operation.

For example, Tim, Claro, and Vivo are expected to activate 462 stations in São Paulo by the end of September.

Anatel said it had already received 1,378 license applications for the 3.5 GHz band by Tuesday, nearly triple the number of antennas that will be installed in São Paulo this year.

This number represents about 30% of the total number of currently active stations (4,592) in São Paulo.

Thus, Anatel Group estimates that in the first phase of infrastructure deployment, 25% of São Paulo’s urban area will be covered by 5G. The regulator explained that the percentage is lower because propagation in the 3.5 GHz band has less coverage.

The authority also said that interference avoidance devices had been installed at 226 fixed satellite service (FSS) stations, and tests have been conducted to confirm interference-free operation.

MICROWAVE SYNDROME

The first-ever study of the health effects of 5G radiation on humans shows that 5G causes typical symptoms of microwave syndrome and a massive increase in microwave radiation. The case study also confirms that radiation well below levels allowed by the authorities causes ill health.

The Swedish Radiation Protection Foundation study was published in Medicinsk Access no. 1/2022. It was carried out by the oncologist and researcher Lennart Hardell from the Research Foundation for Environment & Cancer and Mona Nilsson from the Radiation Protection Foundation.

The study concerns the health consequences for a man and a woman who received a 5G base station directly above the apartment, only 5 meters above the bedroom.
