BOLIVIA

Like Argentina and Uruguay, Bolivia registered this Wednesday its record number of people infected with covid-19, according to a report by the Ministry of Health.

Bolivia registered 10,263 infections and 38 deaths in the last 24 hours. Since March 2020, 641,817 people have been infected, and 29,848 have died.

At the same time, the government decided to cancel until January 26 the requirement of a vaccination card against covid for entry to public or private spaces where there is a concentration of people. In force since January 1, the government measure was questioned by some organizations.

The Minister of Health, Jeyson Auza, said that this decision was taken to “favor the vaccination process”.

Official data indicate that 3.6 million people over 18 years of age received two doses of the vaccine, and 983,510 received a single dose, representing 40% of the Bolivian population.
