Brazil registers 11,202 new cases and 333 Covid deaths (September 17)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil reported 333 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 589,573, the Health Ministry said.

The federal government still reports 310,540 Covid-19 patients in follow-up numbers that have been steadily receding over the past few weeks.

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks eight in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, and Argentina. Worldwide, it ranks 37th.
