Brazil registers 30,891 new cases and 753 Covid deaths (September 9)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Thursday reported 753 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 585,174, the Health Ministry said.

There were also 30,891 new coronavirus cases, with the total number of infections in the country advancing to 20,958,899, the folder added.

The federal government still reports 371,163 Covid-19 patients in follow-up.

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks eight in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, and Argentina. Worldwide, it ranks 37th.
