Brazil registers 27,345 new cases and 737 Covid deaths (September 1)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Wednesday reported 737 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 581,150, the Health Ministry said.

There were also 27,345 new coronavirus cases, with the total number of infections in the country advancing to 20,804,215, the folder added.

The moving average of daily deaths over the past 14 days reached 678 on Wednesday, compared with a peak of nearly 3,000 in April.

“Brazil recorded the lowest moving average of Covid-19 cases in 2021: 25,700. Reduction of 65% in two months,” Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga celebrated on Twitter.

The federal government still reports 447,192 Covid-19 patients in follow-up.
