Brazil has vaccinated 50.98% of its population with at least one dose

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The number of people vaccinated with at least one dose against Covid-19 in Brazil on Monday, August 9, reached 107,949,359, representing 50.98% of the total population.

In the past 24 hours, 848,561 people were administered the first vaccine shot, according to data compiled by the media outlet consortium from secretariats in 26 states and the Federal District. In the last 24 hours, 625,954 people were administered a booster dose and another 10,540 the single-dose vaccine. Altogether, Brazil administered 1,485,055 doses on Monday.

In proportional terms, São Paulo is the state that has immunized the largest part of its total population so far, with 61.98% of its inhabitants immunized with at least the first dose. The state of Mato Grosso do Sul has the highest proportion of fully vaccinated people, with 31.5% of its residents having been immunized with either the two doses or single-dose vaccines.

In absolute numbers, the highest number of people vaccinated with the first dose is also in São Paulo (28.69 million), followed by Minas Gerais (10.58 million) and Rio de Janeiro (8.46 million).
