Ecuador launched last January 21 a vaccination plan against covid-19, and it is expected that by the end of August, 9 million people will be immunized, which is equivalent to 60% of the population.

According to this plan and up to August 5, 12,384,109 vaccines have been applied in Ecuador, of which 9,524,743 correspond to first doses and 2,859,366 to second applications.

In Ecuador, vaccines from the U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer, the Chinese company Sinovac and the British company AstraZéneca are being applied.

However, this week Ecuador also received 200,000 doses of the vaccine from the Chinese company Cansino for a single application, destined for human groups in remote areas of difficult access and inmates in prisons.
