RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Friday reported 963 new deaths as a result of Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 555,460, the Health Ministry said.
There were also 40,904 new cases of coronavirus reported, bringing the total of confirmed infections in the country to 19,880,273.
According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks fifth in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Colombia, Paraguay, Cuba, and Argentina.
The country has seen a reduction in pandemic numbers in recent weeks.
