Brazil registers 54,517 new cases and 1,424 Covid deaths (July 21)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Wednesday reported 1,424 new deaths due to Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 545,604, the Health Ministry said.

There were also 54,517 new coronavirus cases, with the total number of infections in the country advancing to 19,473,954, the folder added.

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks fourth in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Colombia, Paraguay, and Argentina.

In terms of total deaths per million, Brazil ranks among the ten most affected nations, such as Peru, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Colombia, Argentina, Italy, Belgium, and other European countries.
