The government must send to Congress a provisional measure opening extraordinary credit in favor of the Ministry of Citizenship to make the transfers. According to the family size, the amounts of the new installments should remain the same, between R$150 (US$29) and R$375 per month.

The requirements for receiving the benefit will be the same as those currently in effect, and the aid will continue to be paid by government-owned savings bank Caixa Economica Federal, which will release the payment schedule. “The benefit will be operationalized and paid by the means and mechanisms already used to pay the aid during the current year,” says a note from the General Secretariat of the Presidency.

“It is a fundamental act to allow the payment of emergency aid 2021 for an additional period that has proven essential for the livelihood of the most vulnerable population, to prevent millions of Brazilians from falling into or suffering extreme poverty,” the statement said.
