Brazil fails to close nasal spray deal that prompted trip to Israel

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A delegation visited the country on March 6. It praised the medicine’s properties. Telegrams with Israel under secrecy.

The Brazilian Foreign Ministry accepted that the Brazilian delegation’s trip to Israel failed to result in an agreement on the nasal spray against Covid-19. The trip, led by ex-foreign minister Ernesto Araújo, was also unsuccessful in sharing technology to fight the pandemic.

The information is in a document sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the PSOL bench in the Chamber of Deputies. The document was sent on May 7, but was only released on Friday, May 14. Below is the full text.

According to the information provided by the ministry, the term of cooperation on the nasal spray was not finalized because the Ministry of Health failed to sign the document. In the letter of intent you can see that Araújo signed the text, as did the representative of Israel. But the Health representative did not.
