With Yesterday’s 623, Brazil Passes 80,000 Deaths by Coronavirus (July 20th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil recorded 632 new deaths and 20,257 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. According to the daily bulletin, released by the Ministry of Health, the country currently counts 80,120 deaths and 2,118,646 cases of the disease.

According to Monday’s report, July 20th, 1,409,202 have recovered from the disease. The Ministry of Health also reported that 629,324 patients are in follow-up. There are also 3,946 deaths under investigation.

The lethality rate (number of deaths by confirmed cases) stood at 3.8 percent. The mortality rate (number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants) reached 38.1. The incidence of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants is 1008.2.

On Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, the daily number recorded tends to be lower due to the challenge in feeding the database by the municipal and state secretariats. On Tuesdays, the number is typically higher due to the updating of cases accumulated over weekends.
