Claro Increases Internet Usage on Post-paid Plans at No Cost

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Claro has made a slight change in its post-paid portfolio and increased the data package without changing the monthly fees: the input option was previously 7 GB and is now 8 GB.

The more expensive plans also have been provided with more internet and now include 50 GB or 100 GB. All have unlimited WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, plus extra usage for Netflix and YouTube videos.

Old Offer / New Offer / Price
7 GB / 8 GB / R$109.99 (US$27.50)
30 GB / 50 GB / R$249,99
50 GB / 100 GB / R$ 389.99

Plans providing 10 GB and 15 GB remain unchanged, costing R$129.99 and R$179.99 per month, respectively. The figures refer to São Paulo (Area Code 11) in the digital account option with automatic debit and retention for 12 months.

Clients who prefer receiving a physical invoice and paying manually are charged an extra R$10.

All plans include unlimited calls and SMS to any operator, including long-distance calls. Traffic on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook (including Messenger), Waze, Cabify and Claro Music is free.

In addition to additional internet, there is another exclusive top-up for video services, the same amount as the main data package. As such, subscribers to the 8 GB plan will have an additional 8 GB exclusively for watching YouTube, Netflix, NET Now and Claro Video.

Residential combo clients with broadband, pay-TV and landline get double the top-up on cell phones and double the fixed internet speed.

Another advantage is that every post-paid Claro package includes the Americas Passport, which allows the use of the Brazilian plan in 18 American countries, including destinations popularly sought after by Brazilians such as Argentina, Chile, and the United States.

The most expensive plan, which includes 100 GB internet, includes the World Passport, with coverage in 80 countries including the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania.

Sharing the plan with up to 5 dependent lines is supported, depending on the option chosen. The monthly cost is R$39.90 for each SIM card.

The new portfolio was launched during Black Friday: those who hired during the promotional period doubled their internet for one year.
