RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The channel’s operational and administrative facilities will be located on República de Chile Avenue, on the top floor of the luxurious and modern Ventura Corporate Towers building.
CNN’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro will be located very close to the Metropolitan Cathedral and Rio Branco Avenue, the financial heart of Rio de Janeiro and the main street in the city’s central region.
The more-than 400m2 area will feature a glass studio overlooking two of the country’s main tourist attractions: Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Lapa Arches. Rio’s landscape will also be included in CNN Brasil‘s appearances on CNN International’s journalistic program for more than 100 countries.
In addition to the hosts, who will be live in the studio throughout the program, dozens of professionals will be part of the team in charge of covering the news from all over the state of Rio de Janeiro.
CNN Brasil’s initial operations in the country are scheduled for the first quarter of 2020. The channel’s casting now includes journalists such as Evaristo Costa, William Waack, Cris Dias, and Monalisa Perrone.
“The choice of the location follows the standards designated by the CNN brand and will visually allow our audience to easily recognize that Rio de Janeiro is the source of the news. The building is a standards reference for its technical specifications, located in a privileged region, and close to the city’s main transport hubs, which will ease the flow of our reporting teams,” said Douglas Tavolaro, CEO and founder of CNN Brazil.
