Bolsonaro’s Party Compares his Stab Wound to September 11th Attacks in the U.S.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The efforts of the Bolsonaro Party PSL to turn its leader into a hero knows no boundaries. A few days ago, the 6th of September was to be elevated to a national holiday to commemorate the knife attack.

And today, September 11th, PSL compared the stab wound suffered by President Jair Bolsonaro to the attack on the Twin Towers, which killed more than 2,700 people in 2001 in New York City.

On September 11th, 2019, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro's political party, PSL, published on its official Instagram account a post which compared Bolsonaro's stab wound to the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001.

“18 years ago, an attack on the Twin Towers in New York City in the United States shocked the entire world. A year ago, Brazil suffered an attack on democracy: Jair Bolsonaro was stabbed in the middle of a public act. These two episodes impacted society and left their mark on history,” according to one of the party’s official profiles on Instagram.

The President is still in hospital after undergoing surgery to correct a hernia, which was the result of invasive procedures that Bolsonaro was subjected to since the stabbing attack. He is stable, but the medical decision was to suspend oral feeding.

The party’s desperate attempts to arouse patriotic feelings among the population may be a good indication that the PSL is taking the recent poor poll results much more seriously than it cares to admit.
