Facebook Introduces “Clear History” Tool in Three Countries

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Following a few deferrals, Facebook has begun providing a tool that will allow users to delete their history of social media activity. The tool, named “Clear History”, will be accessible in a specific section.

The tool is currently available in only three countries, namely Spain, Ireland, and South Korea.

By pressing the “Delete activity” button, users will be free to de-activate websites to which they have signed in using their Facebook account, for instance.

“Our engineering team has redesigned the systems and built a new way to process information. We have also conducted months of research to involve people, privacy advocates, policymakers, advertisers, and industry groups. We’ve introduced significant changes in response to what we’ve learned,” says the Facebook blog post.

The tool is currently available in only three countries, namely Spain, Ireland, and South Korea. It is expected that the ”Clear History” button will be released in more countries over the coming weeks.
