RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Three years after Metallica’s presence on the line-up, hard rock is once again one of the main attractions of Brazilian Lollapalooza. Destak found that the 2020 edition will feature Guns N’ Roses as one of its headliners. The event takes place on dates to be defined between the end of March and the beginning of April.
There are suspicions that the North American band will bring a new record and the classic line-up, or the closest to it. Another rumor is that the group could play the entire “Use Your Illusion” album from 1991, in which they recorded hits like “You Could Be Mine”, “Don’t Cry”, and the cover of “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” (by Bob Dylan).
It will all depend on the concert season that the Guns performs in the second half of 2019 in the USA, according to guitarist Slash to a radio station. According to the musician, who was in Brazil in May, the band is already working on new songs, but will only work in the studio after this stage of performances, in late 2019.
The band has not released a studio album since “Chinese Democracy” in 2008. Slash was not part of this album, as well as bassist Duff McKagan, who also tipped off that there is something new coming from the Guns.
Guns N’ Roses had a euphoric career between “Appetite For Destruction,” the 1987 debut album (which contains the classics “Welcome to the Jungle”, “Paradise City”, and “Sweet Child O’Mine”) and the double album “Use Your Illusion”, released four years later.
Euphoria also marked all of the band’s performances in Brazil. In their previous visit, in 2017, Guns N ‘Roses performed for over 3 hours at Rock in Rio, including a tribute to Chris Cornell (who died that year) and also a performance at a festival called São Paulo Trip.
