SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – The earnings reported for the opening match of the 2019 Copa América, between Brazil and Bolivia, drew considerable attention at Morumbi. Over R$22 million (US$5.4 million) was raised, with a paying audience of 46,342. The average ticket cost approximately R$485.
This is the highest gate receipts ever reported in the history of Brazilian football, far surpassing the Brazil-Chile record of the last qualifying rounds at Arena Palmeiras, which collected R$15 million.
The full amount will go to the Local Organizing Committee of Copa América.

Brazil won the match by 3-0. The total attendance at the stadium is not the highest for Morumbi this season. The São Paulo-Corinthians championship final counted over 58,000 supporters.
