São Paulo Government delivers 11,000 real estate titles to residents of 25 housing developments in the capital

This Sunday, 21, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) delivered 11,073 titles of land regularization to residents of 25 housing developments distributed in various regions of the city of São Paulo.

The actions are part of the Land Regularization of Housing Interest program of the Urban and Housing Development Company (Cdhu) and counted on a R$2 million investment.

More than 44,000 people benefited from the program and became legal owners of their properties.

During the delivery, which took place at the Neo Química Arena in Itaquera, the governor promised to deliver 200,000 homes.

“Some time ago, I told Marcelo we had to build much housing in São Paulo. He said, ‘How many do you want? I said that I wanted to build more than 200,000 houses.”

“He said it was daring, but we need daring, and he is doing it. We already have more than 51,000 homes under production.”

Most residents have been waiting for years to get their properties registered, the document that formalizes the ownership of the houses where they live.

Among the families that benefited are the Brasilândia B housing complex residents in Vila Brasilândia, in the northern part of the capital, where more than 3,500 units were regularized.

“We are happy to deliver these housing titles because they represent the dream of home ownership and bring legal security to more than 11,000 families.”

“This is an action that we are doing all over the state, and we will continue investing more and more in housing policies for the population”, highlighted Governor Tarcísio de Freitas.

Regularizing housing developments requires fulfilling some work stages, such as diagnosing the property’s situation, formulating a strategy for regularization, and technical analysis, in addition to actions with the competent municipal and state agencies.

The state government’s objective is to eliminate the liabilities of properties that need regularization and that were delivered by CDHU in previous years.

Regularizing the property brings legal security to the benefited families, an opportunity to access the formal credit market and even the possibility of selling or transferring the house to heirs.
