The Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Flávio Dino, extended the task force for another 30 days (until June 30) and the use of the National Public Safety Force to support the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
The decisions are contained in an ordinance published Monday in the Diário Oficial da União (DOU).
The task force aims to exercise the coordination of the actions of the activities of guard services, surveillance, and custody of prisoners.
“The operation will have the logistical support and supervision of the organs of penitentiary administration and public safety of the requesting federated entity, under the terms of the Cooperation Agreement, signed between the parties, during the validity of this authorized Ordinance,” says the ordinance.
The National Public Security Force will support the State of Rio Grande do Norte in joint and coordinated actions with the public security agencies in the state “in activities and services essential to the preservation of public order and the safety of people and property.
