São Paulo State Breaks Daily Coronavirus Death Toll Record (June 2nd)

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – On Tuesday, June 2nd, the state of São Paulo recorded 327 deaths caused by coronavirus in 24 hours. The total number of deaths stands at 7,994.

The number of daily fatalities is the highest since the start of the pandemic – the former record was 324 deaths on May 19th.

The number of new cases was also the highest during the coronavirus crisis: 6,999 in the last 24 hours, totaling 118,295 people infected.

The ICU occupancy rate in the state stands at 73.5 percent and 85.3 percent in greater São Paulo.
