Icon of Brazilian Popular Music Offers Free Concert in São Paulo

SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – An icon of Brazilian popular music, Alceu Valença comes to São Paulo next month to perform at Ibirapuera Park with the Ouro Preto Orchestra.

This performance follows the successful tour “Valencianas”, a partnership between the classical music group and Alceu Valença, who toured the whole of Brazil and Portugal, always with sold-out shows.

This new show is a virtual continuation of the first and will be called “Valencianas II” adding a great challenge: to bring new music, new arrangements and cover even more of Alceu Valença’s hits.

The project launch takes place in Recife and reaches São Paulo on November 17th, at Ibirapuera.

With free admission, the concert features new works in its repertoire that aim to surprise fans of Alceu’s poetry, with even more music and beauty.

The countless hits that were left out in the first show will now have their turn on the setlist.

Maestro Rodrigo Toffolo, who conducts the Orchestra, disclosed some already: “Como Dois Animais”, “Dia Branco”, “Solidão”, “Tesoura do Desejo”, “Taxi Lunar” and “Pelas Ruas que Andei”.

Hand-picked by Alceu Valença, these songs promise to thrill the audience, in arrangements especially devised by Mateus Freire, who also proposes a new Orchestral Suite for the opening of the show.
