Azul Airlines bridges the gap: Unveiling Curitiba-Florianópolis route for improved connectivity to southern Brazil

As Brazil’s air travel sector continues to rebound from the challenges posed by global events, many airlines are looking for opportunities to expand their reach and tap into underserved markets.

Curitiba and Florianópolis are two of the country’s most vibrant state capitals, each boasting rich histories, cultures, and promising economic potential far beyond most other Brazilian cities.

Recognizing this, Azul Airlines has unveiled a new daily flight route connecting Curitiba to Florianópolis.

This strategic move is expected to meet the growing passenger demand in both cities.

The commencement of this service is slated for October 29th of this year.

With a focus on comfort and efficiency, the airline has chosen the Embraer E195 aircraft, known for its reliability, to service this route.

It offers a seating capacity of 118 passengers, ensuring a significant number of travelers can be accommodated.

Eager travelers can mark their calendars as ticket sales for this anticipated route will kick off on August 2nd, exclusively on Azul’s official website.

Historically, air travel between these two cities was limited. Gol stood as the sole provider, offering flights between Afonso Pena Airport in São José dos Pinhais and Hercílio Luz Airport in Florianópolis.

Azul’s entry into this route is a testament to its growth and a reflection of the airline’s commitment to bridging transportation gaps in the region.

Vitor Silva, a pivotal figure at Azul, wearing the dual hats of General Manager of Network Planning and Strategic Planning, has voiced his excitement about this new venture.

Silva envisions a cascade of benefits from this route, predicting a ripple effect in the southern region of Brazil.

With boosted air connectivity, there’s potential for a surge in local economic activities, increased tourism, and more income opportunities for local businesses and communities.

Furthermore, in a bid to further solidify its presence and expand its service offering, Azul has also hinted at future expansions.
