Rio Creative Conference Happening in Barra this Week

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – From Tuesday, April 3rd, to Sunday, April 8th, Cidade das Artes (Barra), is hosting the “Rio Creative Conference”, an event focused on the latest innovations from the creative industry. Gathering important professionals from the audiovisual market, including representatives from Netflix and Fox Premium, the event will also promote music shows and workshops.

Apart from the panels, keynotes, and workshops, the Rio Creative Conference will also host a music festival on the weekend with rapper Karol Conka as the closing attraction, photo internet recreation.

Blending technology, arts and innovation, the Rio Creative Conference aims to connect personalities from diverse sectors to reflect on the trends, challenges, and demands experienced by the creative industry of today.

According to the curators, the fair also intends to promote Rio de Janeiro as a key player in the entertainment industry, up to date with innovation and welcoming the future.

Even though the Rio Creative Conference has already been taking place for seven years (under the name “Rio Content Market”), this year’s edition will be the first to include music and innovation. What’s more, this is the first time the event is open to the public.

The approximately 200 panels, keynotes, summits, and workshops being held at Rio Creative Conference will cover a wide range of themes, including urban mobility, digital influencers, artificial intelligence, startups, digital gastronomy, among many others.

Some of the greatest names from the creative industry will participate in the event, including Bruce Miller, American showrunner and executive producer of the series “The Handmaid’s Tale”; Ed Cherney, American Grammy-winning engineer, who has worked with The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Sting; and Andrucha Waddington, Brazilian filmmaker and creative director of Rio 2016 Olympics.

During the weekend, April 7th and 8th, five festivals will simultaneously take place at the Rio Creative Conference: Festivália, gathering eight Brazilian independent music festivals; XR Arcade, the biggest “extended reality” experience in Latin America; Game Zone, which will host live competitive games; Animation, Series and Web Celebrities, which will promote film exhibitions and talks with directors and producers; and a food trucks‘ festival.

On Saturday, April 7th, the most anticipated musical attractions performing at Festivália are Francisco El Hombre, a Latin music and rock band from Campinas (São Paulo), and renowned rapper Emicida. Closing the conference festival on Sunday, April 8th, will be singer the Tulipa Ruiz, who will also invite to the stage rapper Karol Conka and the female duo, As Bahias e A Cozinha Mineira.
