Brazilian Takes Command in World’s Largest Modeling Agency

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Former model and entrepreneur Marcus Panthera is the new CEO of Elite Models Miami.

Elite is the largest modeling agency in the world, with branches in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Toronto.

Panthera joins the company’s board, which is responsible for the world’s biggest runway stars.

Before joining Elite, he sold his agency, MP, with branches in seven cities around the world, including Paris, Milan, and Miami. The official announcement will be made next week.

Panthera says one of his goals now is “to bring Brazilian models to the top of the world.”

Four years ago, he integrated the critics’ choir to Walcyr Carrasco’s “Verdades Secretas” miniseries, aired by Globo, addressing the fashion underworld.

The businessman considered the plot to be stereotypical and “offensive to serious fashion professionals.”

Marcus Panthera, 60, now lives in Miami and was one of the most successful and pioneering Brazilians on international fashion catwalks. He worked and settled in Paris at the beginning of his career. Already famous, he traveled to Japan (36 times) where he walked the runway for Kenzo, among other brands.

Founder of “Mega” agency in Brazil, he also worked for Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Pierre Balmain. He is the brother of TV presenter Monique Evans.
