PSL Party Expels Suspect of Participating in Attack on ‘Porta dos Fundos’ Producer

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Accused of participating in the attack on the ‘Porta dos Fundos’ producer, Eduardo Fauzi Richard Cerquise was expelled on Monday, January 6th, from the PSL party chapter in Rio de Janeiro.

According to the website of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), he had been affiliated with the party since 2001.

In addition to the PSL, Eduardo Fauzi was also affiliated with a rightist activist group, the Brazilian Integralist Front (FIB). This organization also expelled him from its membership last week.

The attack on the production company happened in the early hours of December 24th. On the 30th, the Civil Police tried to serve an arrest warrant against Fauzi at four addresses linked to him in Rio de Janeiro, but he was not found.

Then it was discovered that the suspect had boarded a plane for Russia the day before his arrest was decreed.

In Russia, Eduardo Fauzi released a video, a little over seven minutes long, in which he attacks ‘Porta dos Fundos’ and calls the comedians “bigots, outcasts and criminals.”
