Live Broadcast of Pagode Band Interrupted by Shooting in Rio de Janeiro State

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Members of the Aglomerou pagode band were startled when their live performance was interrupted by a gunfight. The incident occurred in Angra dos Reis, in the south Rio de Janeiro state, while the artists sang and their performance was streamed on YouTube.

When shooting sounds start to be heard, the musicians stop playing, attentive and apparently worried about what might be happening. At that point a man carrying a large gun ran through what would be the performance stage. The artists ducked down and tried to leave the venue to protect themselves.

After the commotion, the band members recorded a video saying that they were fine and explaining that a police operation had taken place in a house nearby. The band’s vocalist declared that no one involved in the show had been injured and that the incident was unrelated to the venue or to the people who were working on the event.
