Brazil celebrates the opening of the Canadian market to Brazilian meat

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply, Tereza Cristina, celebrated on Monday, March 14, Canada’s release of beef and pork imports from Brazil.

“Great news for our #agro. Canada, one of the most important markets in the world, authorized the beginning of the exportation of beef and pork produced in Brazil. Now there are more than 200 markets opened by Mapa (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply) in the Jair Bolsonaro government’s administration,” she announced on Twitter.

Tereza Cristina, who is on a mission to Canada since last weekend, said in the post that today she would have a series of meetings to deal with the import of fertilizers by Brazil.

As the fourth global consumer of fertilizers, responsible for about 8% of this volume, and as the world’s largest importer, Brazil seeks new markets for fertilizers since Russia, the country’s main supplier suffers worldwide sanctions because of the war in Ukraine.
