Elon Musk says he will step down as Twitter CEO as soon as he finds replacement

Elon Musk said Tuesday that he would step down as CEO of Twitter as soon as he finds someone to replace him, an announcement that comes after a majority of users said he should resign in a poll conducted on the social media platform.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software and server teams,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

With more than 17.5 million votes in total, 57.5 percent of the users who responded to Musk’s poll said he should step down as Twitter’s boss, just a few weeks after Musk acquired the company and took over.

Musk promised that he would respect the results when publishing the survey. Another 42.5 percent of users said Musk should not leave the post.
