‘The U.S. will not donate vaccines to Brazil’ – Brazil’s Health Minister

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga commented on U.S. President Joe Biden's statement on the intention to donate vaccines against Covid-19 to other countries. Queiroga appreciated the pledge, but said that in the case of Brazil, "being pragmatic," the U.S. will not donate the vaccines, "also because Brazil bought these doses from American companies," he said.

According to Queiroga, the negotiations with the U.S. do not involve the donation of vaccines, stressing his conversation with U.S. Health Secretary Xavier Becerra. Queiroga said that his effort is to advance the delivery of vaccines . . .
