São Paulo State Counts Over 19,000 Deaths, 415,000 Cases by Covid-19 (July 19th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Sunday, July 19th, the State of São Paulo reached a total of 19,732 deaths and 415,049 confirmed cases of Covid-19. ICU bed occupancy rates stand at 65.1 percent in Greater São Paulo and 66.9 percent in the State.

Among the total of diagnosed cases of Covid-19, 270,203 people have recovered, and 58,605 were hospitalized and discharged.

Of the 645 São Paulo municipalities, in 637 at least one person was infected, 430 of which recording one or more deaths.

Profile

Among the fatalities, 11,392 were men and 8,340 were women. The deaths continue to be concentrated in patients aged 60 and over, totaling 74.8 percent of fatalities.

The main risk factors associated with mortality in the State of São Paulo are heart disease (58.5 percent of deaths), diabetes mellitus (43.2 percent), neurological (11 percent) and renal (9.8 percent) diseases, and pneumopathy (8.3 percent).
