Week ending June 30: Covid-19 Deaths Drop 6.1 Percent, New Cases Increase 15 Percent

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the National Council of Health Secretaries (CONASS), on Monday, June 29th, there were 1,402,041 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 59,594 deaths in Brazil. In the last 24 hours alone there were 33,846 new cases and 1,280 deaths.

When comparing the cases and deaths accrued in the past seven days (between June 24th and 30th), 6,949 new deaths and 256,132 confirmed cases were reported by Health Secretariats.

Considering the preceding week (between June 17th and 23rd), the figures are 6.1 percent lower in relation to deaths and 15 percent higher compared to confirmed cases.

The Covid-19 incidence throughout the country is 667.2 people per 100,000 inhabitants, according to data from the National Council of Health Secretaries.

The lethality rate stands at 4.3 percent and the mortality rate is 28.4 per 100,000 inhabitants.
