Covid-19: Brazil Totals 4.31 Million Cases and 131,200 Deaths (September 12th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The balance released yesterday, September 12th, by the Ministry of Health reports 814 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, totaling 131,210 since the start of the pandemic. Between Friday and Saturday, 33,523 new cases were recorded, totaling 4,315,687, of which 3,553,421 (82.3 percent) have recovered.

According to the Ministry, there are 631,056 cases in follow-up. The lethality rate stands at three percent and the mortality per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 62.4. The incidence of novel coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 2,053.7.

São Paulo is the Brazilian state with the highest number of deaths (32,567), followed by Rio de Janeiro (16,985), Ceará (8,685), Pernambuco (7,852), and Pará (6,307). Roraima has the lowest number of deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus (610). Next, come Acre (637), Amapá (678), Tocantins (799), and Mato Grosso do Sul (1,055).

São Paulo also leads the number of cases, with 890,690, followed by Bahia (281,665), Minas Gerais (250,190), Rio de Janeiro (240,776), and Ceará (227,075). The states with the least cases are Acre (26,148), Amapá (45,789), Roraima (46,348), and Mato Grosso do Sul (58,671).
