Covid-19: Brazil Records 610 Deaths and 23,900 Cases in 24 Hours (November 4th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil’s health authorities have registered 610 deaths and 23,976 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours. The data are included in the Ministry of Health’s daily update, released on Wednesday evening, November 4th.

With the new deaths reported, a total of 161,106 people have died as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic. There are still 2,295 deaths under investigation.

With the new positive Covid-19 diagnoses registered, the cumulative number of infections has reached 5,590.025 since the start of the pandemic.

According to the Ministry of Health’s update, there are also 364,575 patients under follow-up. Another 5,064,344 people are classified as having recovered from the disease, equivalent to 90.6 percent of the total number of those infected.

Covid-19 in the states

The states with the highest number of deaths are São Paulo (39,549), Rio de Janeiro (20,759), Ceará (9,370), Minas Gerais (9,069), and Pernambuco (8,667).

The states with the fewest fatal cases are Roraima (693), Acre (696), Amapá (751), Tocantins (1,105), and Rondônia (1,464).
