Covid-19: Brazil Counts 271 More Deaths and 15,383 New Cases in 24 Hours (October 19th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health’s epidemiological report – released on Monday, October 19th – shows that 15,383 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in Brazil.

Since the start of the pandemic, the country has 5,250,727 cumulative infections with the novel coronavirus.

The death toll increased by 271 deaths in 24 hours, bringing the total to 154,176.

According to the Ministry of Health, 4,681,659 Brazilians have already recovered from Covid-19. Currently 414,892 patients are under treatment.

Brazil is ranked third in the world in number of cases and second in number of deaths. The United States leads in both cases with 8,128,524 infections and 218,986 lives lost, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). India is second in terms of infections (7,550,273) and third in terms of deaths (114,610).
