RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil registered 84,494 new cases and 3,780 deaths associated with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, setting a new daily record for deaths, the Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday, March 30, in its most recent epidemiological bulletin.
According to official government figures, the highest number of daily deaths in the thirteen months of the pandemic was recorded between Monday and Tuesday, a figure that comes in the midst of more severe confinement measures, social isolation, and closure of non-essential activities decreed by governors and mayors.
Brazil, the second-most affected country Covid-19 after the USA, has now accumulated 317,646 deaths and 12,658,109 cases.
