Brazil Records Over Five Million Covid-19 Cases and 150,000 Deaths (October 10th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On October 10th, the Ministry of Health released new figures on the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the country.

According to a daily survey conducted by the portfolio, Brazil has 5,082,637 confirmed cases of the disease and 150,198 recorded deaths. Recovered cases total 4,453,722.

In the past 24 hours, the Ministry recorded 26,749 new cases and 559 deaths. According to the Ministry of Health, 2,347 cases are under investigation.

The state of São Paulo has the highest number of cumulative cases since the start of the pandemic, with 1,034,816 cases and 37,223 deaths. Next come the states of Bahia (324,964 cases and 7,099 deaths), Minas Gerais (321,140 cases and 8,061 deaths) and Rio de Janeiro (283,407 cases and 19,284 deaths).
