Brazil records lowest number of deaths and Covid-19 cases since November 2020 (July 19)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the bulletin released by the Ministry of Health, Brazil recorded 15,271 new covid infections in the last 24 hours, the lowest number of cases for one day in more than eight months, since the 15,360 infections recorded on November 15 last year.

The total number of fatalities from the disease in the country stands at 542,756.

 

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks fourth in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Colombia, Paraguay, and Argentina.

In terms of total deaths per million, Brazil ranks among the ten most affected nations, such as Peru, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Colombia, Argentina, Italy, Belgium, and other European countries.

The Brazilian state most affected by Covid in absolute terms, São Paulo last Thursday reached the marks of 3,942,776 cases and 134,900 deaths.

The federal government reports 18,067,080 people recovered from Covid-19 and 782,009 patients in follow-up.
