Brazil Records 1,185 New Covid-19 Deaths in 24 Hours, Total Reaches 53,830 (June 24)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil recorded 1,185 additional deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours, according to updated figures released on Wednesday, June 24th, by the Ministry of Health.

The state of São Paulo reached 238,822 cases of the disease and 13,352 deaths on Wednesday.

This brings the total number of deaths from the disease in the country to 53,830. In one day, 42,725 new cases were confirmed, raising the number of people who have been infected by Covid-19 to 1,188,631. Of that total, 649,908 (54.7 percent) have recovered, according to the Ministry of Health.

The state of São Paulo reached 238,822 cases of the disease and 13,352 deaths on Wednesday. Rio de Janeiro counts 103,493 people infected and 9,295 deaths. Ceará is next with 99,578 confirmations and 5,815 deaths.
