Brazil Counts 1,378 Deaths and Over 39,000 Cases in One Day (June 23rd)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health yesterday reported a further 1,378 deaths from the novel coronavirus pandemic, bringing the cumulative total to 52,649, a 2.7 percent variation from the previous day when a daily record of 654 deaths was reported.

This daily death record is only below the number reported on June 4th – 1,473 deaths.

The portfolio reported 39,436 people confirmed as  having Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, a number also much higher than the preceding day – 21,432. This record is also only lower than the figure reached on June 19th – 54,771 – which the government ascribed to obstacles in data collection from several states.

The total number of confirmed cases of infection in the country now stands at 1,145,906.
