Shares of Brazilian companies fall 5% in the US pre-market

Shares of Brazilian companies traded in New York fell in the pre-opening market after the result of the 2nd round of the 2022 elections.

The EWZ, which is the index that replicates companies' assets, retreated up to 5% this Monday (Oct. 31). At 9:28 am, it was down 2%.

Investors react to the victory of socialist Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who still hasn't explained the government's economic policy.

The lack of information creates insecurity in the market and makes operators act cautiously.

In the second round, Lula defeated President Jair Bolsonaro (PL, right).
