RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A barrier slide in the north side of Recife left seven dead and three people injured. According to the Fire Department, the accident occurred around 2:55 AM yesterday, December 24th, at Rua Bela Vista, in Córrego do Morcego, in the neighborhood of Dois Unidos.
Among the victims found dead are two children: Daffyne Agostinho da Silva, 8, and Emanuel Henrique Junior, 2 months.
Also killed were Lucimar Alves da Silva, 50, Emanuel Henrique, 25; Erica Virgínia, 19; Claudia Bezerra, 47; and Lia dos Santos Oliveira, 45.
“Six vehicles were sent to the location, two of them for search and rescue, one for dog search, one for operational command and two for recovery”.
“The fire department cannot determine the causes of the accident,” he said.
