São Paulo Governor Praises Supreme Court, Says ‘Brazil Will Not Turn Into Venezuela’

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, reiterated his solidarity with the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and its justices after fireworks were aimed at the court building by supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro this weekend. “I want to tell the dictatorship’s nostalgists that you’ve already lost. Brazil will not become Venezuela, Belarus or Cuba. Neither a fascist dictatorship, nor a proletarian one,” Doria said during a press conference at the Bandeirantes Palace.
