Brazil: Former judge asks for Minister Alexandre de Moraes’ preventive detention at the Superior Military Court

Brazilian former judge Wilson Issao Koressawa filed, on Thursday night, 8, at the Superior Military Court (STM), a criminal action in which he requests the preventive detention of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

The rapporteur who will analyze the demand is Minister Artur Vidigal de Oliveira. The petition is not available for consultation.

Koressawa was a judge at the Court of Justice of Amapá (TJ-AP). Currently, he is a retired prosecutor of the Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT).

The lawyer came in 7th place in the competition for a substitute judge at the TJ-AP. On April 5, 1994, he was appointed to the post. Six years later, he was exonerated from the role. According to the ordinance published on June 25, 2021, the exoneration took place at the request of the server.

Koressawa moved to Brasília and was appointed MPDFT prosecutor in August 1996. He retired from the position in February 2021, due to permanent disability.

Today, he is an active lawyer registered with the Taguatinga Subsection of the Brazilian Bar Association Section of the Federal District.

The former magistrate even filed a civil writ of mandamus against journalist William Bonner, from TV Globo, on the grounds that the presenter of Jornal Nacional encouraged vaccination against covid-19.
