Murders drop in the first nine months of the year in Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil had a 4.7% drop in murders in the first nine months of this year compared to the same period in 2020. The national homicide index created by G1 shows, based on official data from the 26 states and the Federal District.

Nevertheless, according to experts, a reversal in the curve in the last two months lights up a warning. Both in August and September, the number of crimes was higher than the previous year. And, with this, more than 1/3 of the states will register an increase in murders in 2021.
