Lula da Silva presses US and Interpol for the extradition of Bolsonarist journalist Allan dos Santos

The Brazilian Justice Ministry has contacted Interpol and the United States government to resume the extradition process of Bolsonarist journalist Allan dos Santos.

The information was revealed by the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.

According to the newspaper, the contact with Interpol is made by the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino.

The journalist is in the United States since he was the target of a preventive arrest warrant issued by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes.

Moraes ordered the arrest in the “digital militias” and antidemocratic acts investigations.

Recently, dos Allan dos Santos had his passport canceled by Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

Besides the cancellation, there is still a request for preventive detention ordered by the magistrate in October 2021.

With this, Moraes determined the inclusion of Allan’s name in Interpol’s Red Diffusion list.

ON THE RUN FROM THE JUDICIARY

Allan dos Santos is the target of two investigations by the Supreme Court STF: one investigating the dissemination of so-called false (or fake) news against the Supreme Court, the other the organization of so-called digital militias created to attack democratic institutions.

Experience with these two indictments shows that the Supreme Court, composed mainly of judges close to the PT party (left), rejects anything that does not suit them or the party they serve.

In this sense, we see more and more parallels between the Supreme Court in Nicaragua and the one in Brazil.

That is why Brazil’s VP Hamilton Mourão wrote on his Twitter account a couple of weeks ago, that the “highest instance of Brazilian Judiciary behaves unconstitutionally and illegally”.

In October 2021, Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered preventive detention for the Bolsonarist blogger.

On that occasion, the judge also ruled that the Ministry of Justice and Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should initiate the procedure to extradite Allan dos Santos, who currently lives in the United States.
