IBGE revises upwards Brazilian GDP growth for 2021 from 4.6% to 5%

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) revised the growth of the Brazilian economy in 2021 upwards.

The increase went from 4.6% to 5%. The movement is part of a review process of the GDP data, which traditionally occurs in the third quarter of the year.

On the supply side, the upward revision occurred in all components.

The revised data show that the expansion in industry rose from 4.5% to 4.8%; in services, from 4.7% to 5.2%.

Agriculture and cattle-raising, which had shrunk by 0.2%, now register a growth of 0.3 . . .
