Brazil’s EMBRAER delivers first Praetor 500 business jet

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – EMBRAER recently delivered a Praetor 500 to an undisclosed client in Brazil, marking the first delivery of the aircraft type in the country.

The Praetor 500 is currently the farthest – and fastest – flying midsize business jet, with an intercontinental range of 3,340 nautical miles (6,186 km), with four passengers and NBAA IFR Reserves.

“We are proud to deliver the first Praetor 500 in Brazil, the leading business aviation market in Latin America.” said Gustavo Teixeira, EMBRAER Sales VP for Latin America. “The Praetor 500 features the most advanced technology, superior comfort, and unique operational versatility, which will allow our new customer to reach farther distances while operating from small airfields.”

Embraer claims that the Praetor 500 truly outperforms its class. It’s the only midsize jet with full fly-by-wire flight controls, as well as active turbulence reduction for the smoothest flight, enhanced safety and reduced pilot workload.

As no other midsize aircraft, it features a six-foot-tall, flat-floor cabin, stone flooring, and a vacuum service restroom, presenting also the best-in-class 5,800-foot cabin altitude. The whisper-silent cabin is capable of seating up to nine passengers, with the optional two-place divan. Four of the fully reclining seats can be berthed into two beds for optimal comfort.

The Praetor 500 performance enables directs flights from São Paulo to San Juan (Puerto Rico), from Manaus to New York or from Natal to Lisbon, while offering an enviable takeoff and landing field performance, which allows direct access to challenging airports and more destinations. It can fly from Angra dos Reis (or Jacarepagua) to Brasilia with 8 passengers at 30°C takeoff temperature.

With EMBRAER’s commitment to continually improving its industry-leading business jet portfolio, recent updates to the Praetor 500 include enhancements for cabin health, such as a standard HEPA filter that removes 99.97% of bacteria from cabin air and an optional electric lavatory pocket door that reduces touchpoints.
