RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – An 11-year-old girl was raped by four boys, two 13 and two 12 year olds, in the Northern Region of Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais state. The child’s parents went to the police after receiving the crime video by Whatsapp, according to the State Police.
According to the Minas Gerais Civil Police, the video was shot by a 23-year-old man arrested in the act and investigated for filming, sharing, and storing a sex scene involving children or adolescents, crimes under the Statute of the Child and Adolescent. The scenes would have been shared with a contact of his, who redistributed it, thus the video became viral and reached the family. Anyone who shared or stored the video also committed a crime and can be investigated.
The adolescents involved were referred to the Children and Youth Court in Belo Horizonte. All were known to the victim.
According to the police, in addition to the sexual violence, the girl was beaten. She tried to run away, but was taken to a field nearby, located in the Bairro Novo Tupi.
